Big Sky Base Camp

With its “Biggest Skiing in America,” Big Sky Resort draws both locals and visitors to its incredible terrain every winter, but it’s always been somewhat sleepy in the summertime. Not anymore. After the tremendous popularity of the zipline, which was installed last year, Big Sky decided to roll out a brand new menu of summer activities. They’re calling it the Basecamp, and there seems to be something for just about everyone.
Activities range from mellow spa visits, scenic lift rides, and disc golf courses to a heart-pounding high-ropes course, a paintball course for groups up to 16, and the classic, scream-inducing zipline ride (check out our video on the O/B blog: outsidebozeman.blogspot.com, September 2009). Guided rock climbing and whitewater rafting trips can also be organized through the Basecamp, so check out bigskyresort.com or call 995-UZIP for activity dates and prices.
