Bozeman’s book and music lovers always have a lot of events to choose from. Here are some of our picks for the coming months.

Music
In December and February, the Vigilante Theatre Company brings you Chapeau, a musical comedy that begins with Miss Katty’s Annual Social and involves a Western lawman’s stolen hat. Check it out at the Jackass Creek Saloon at Moonlight Basin on 12/23, 12/27, 12/30, 2/3, 2/4, 2/10, and 2/11. Call 995-7716 for reservations.

On February 15, the Dick Walter Broadway in Bozeman Series presents Tap Dogs, an award-winning tap-dance show. Set at a construction site, the show is “rough, tough, rocking theatrical entertainment.” Choreographed by Dein Perry; set design by Nigel Triffitt; music by Andrew Wilkie. The show is at 7:30 pm at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Call 994-CATS for tickets.

Also get your tickets now for Oklahoma, 42nd Street, and Will Rogers Follies, all in April, all part of the Broadway in Bozeman Series, and all at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.

Books
On December 3, Montana writers including Dan Aadland, Meridith B. Cox, Hap Gilliland, Jodi Icenoggle, Dorothy Larson, Dee Marvine, Peggy Neiss, James Paddock, Leonard Schonberg, Andrew Seddon, Chrysti the Wordsmith, Gary Svee, Dick Wheeler, Dave Walter, and others sign and sell books at the annual Montana Writers Roundup at the MSU-Billings downtown campus from noon to 5pm. The event is free and coincides with the Family Tree Center’s Festival of Trees. For more information, call Rachel Schaffer at 657-2954.

And don’t forget to attend the American Association of University Women’s used book sale at the Bozeman Public Library on March 25 and 26. This semi-annual event helps the library make room for new books and is a way for you to donate your old books to help AAUW raise money. Bring a book bag and your patience—there are huge deals, but they’re in a tiny room and the first hour is CRAZY. Prices are lower the second day. Call 582-2400 for more information.
