Book: The Little Red Book of Fly Fishing

The Little Red Book of Fly Fishing (Skyhorse Publishing, $17) is a must-read for both novices and fly fishing aficionados. The authors Kirk Deeter and Charlie Meyers bring their experiences on the river to life with tips, tactics, and memories. This book is packed with short chapters that cover casting techniques, fly presentation, reading water, bugs, and everything else that matters in fly fishing. As an outfitter and guide, I'm always looking for books like this that offer new teaching techniques. The index is very thorough, even though the book is small enough to squeeze into a boat bag or tuck under your driftboat seat.
