Seeing Stars

Night owls, rejoice! The Southwest Montana Astronomical Society (SMAS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to amateur astronomy and the study of the universe, holds meetings each month at the Museum of the Rockies. Meetings may include a speaker, demonstration, workshop, and/or reports on current activities. In addition to hosting statewide star-gazing events, the SMAS holds informal star parties at the museum, as well as workshops on choosing, using, and making telescopes; observation techniques; sky lore; and technical projects.
