Montrail Badrock
Montrail Badrock
Asay, Pat
Despite Bozeman’s extended winter, the lightweight Badrock trail shoe took me to some of my favorite routes; it also let me log a few treadmill and road miles. The shoe is very stable, with good cushioning and excellent traction on just about any surface. A forefoot trail shield provides protection up front without hindering ventilation. Its outsole is larger than some shoes, the heel is beefy, and there’s ample room in the toe box. These qualities enhance stability and comfort, but it is not a minimalist shoe and performs best on trails. All in all, the Badrock provides great traction, a stable ride, and a comfortable fit. $100; montrail.com.
