Spring Fever

The coming of spring is a big deal, and the Bozeman Recreation Department has planned many programs to get kids and families outdoors. Here are some highlights:

T-Ball registration starts February 27 and runs until April 10. The league is for kids 4-8 years old who want to learn fundamental skills. Teams are divided by school or area of town. We need volunteer coaches, too.

The Rec. Dept. Summer Schedule arrives March 29. Call to sign your kids up for summer classes, workshops, and events. They fill up fast.

The famous Easter Egg Hunt in Lindley Park is April 3. It begins at 1pm and is one of Bozeman's greatest community traditions.

The annual Summer Camp Roundup is April 8 from 3:30 to 6:30pm at the Emerson ballroom. This is one-stop-shopping for your summer camp plans. We'll also offer on-site registration for recreation and swimming classes.

April 19-25 is Turn off Your Television Week. We'll offer a full variety of family and youth-oriented activities—which you won't see on TV.

May 4 starts Beginner's Tennis After-School Program (every Tuesday in May), ages 7-12. If you've got a budding "King of the Nets" in your household, here's your chance.

During the school-year, preschool classes are packed and exciting. Our programs boost confidence and self-esteem by offering a broad range of themes to inspire discovery and exploration of arts, movement, and early-childhood learning milestones. The 45-minute classes offer fun in a nurturing environment with age-appropriate activities. We offer two sessions twice weekly for 2-3-year-olds and 3-5-year-olds. In March, our three-week session is a blast with Animals from Exotic Places. In April, we'll have fun with Music & Movement. Fees for six classes in March are $23 for City of Bozeman residents and $32 for nonresidents; eight classes in April cost $30 for City of Bozeman residents and $42.50 for nonresidents.

Stay tuned as we expand our outdoor programming, with plans of an adult summer kick-ball league and backpacking for ‘tweens and teens.
