How Far Will You Go Outside Bozeman

After almost two decades of adventurous Bozemanites traversing the globe, O/B in-hand, there’s precious little we haven’t seen. From Himalayan peaks to the ocean floor, Antarctica to the Arctic Circle, the Sahara desert to the jungles of South America, readers have taken Outside Bozeman darn near everywhere imaginable. But while the world may be finite, creativity and inspiration are not—which is why we keep receiving excellent images every issue. Thanks for all the great photos, people, and keep ‘em coming. As always, “far” can be figurative, so get weird, get wacky, get wild—just get a photo and send it in.

How Far, Outside Bozeman, Cho La Pass, Nepal

With how busy things have gotten lately here in Bozeman for me and my hiking buds, we found ourselves unable to get caught up on the latest issue of Outside Bozeman. So, the three of us decided to take a trip to the Himalayas to find some time to read. The 90-mile trek, 27,000 feet of elevation gain and loss, numerous times relaxing and drinking countless cups of tea at the many tea houses on the way, and especially, stopping at Gokio Ri (17,575 feet), Everest Base Camp (17,600), and Cho La Pass (17,782), gave us the time needed to catch up, dream of our next hike in Bozeman, and get a much-needed breather (the last reason may have provided the most time). This doesn’t include the 21 hours (one-way) of flight time to Kathmandu. Totally recommend this for anyone who can’t seem to keep current with O/B.
