It’s easy to be overwhelmed by Bozeman’s outdoor options.

One way to stay on track is to make a list. Or better yet, let us make one for you. Below are bucket-list adventures, organized into single-day outings that fit into any busy schedule.

Aim for one per season, and you’re bound to get the most out of Bozeman’s outdoor offerings.

Fall

  • Book the Garnet Mountain Lookout Friday night
  • Hike to the top of Storm Castle in the morning (#snaptheguide)
  • Fish the Gallatin and have a picnic lunch
  • Bike the Mountain to Meadow trail at Big Sky in the afternoon 

Winter

  • Ski morning powder at Bridger Bowl
  • Crush Nordic lunch laps at Lindley Park
  • Go sledding on Peets Hill at sunset
  • Fat-bike town trails by headlamp for a nightcap

Spring

  • Ski the northern Bridgers in perfect corn conditions
  • Fish the East Gallatin before lunch
  • Climb Bozeman’s in-town boulders in the afternoon
  • Ride the Highland Glen trails at sunset

Summer

  • Run in a local 5k fundraiser before brunch
  • Paddleboard and picnic at Bozeman Beach
  • Bike Leverich in the evening
  • Camp in Hyalite along the reservoir
