Muscle-Heads Welcome

On Saturday, July 12th, Outside Bozeman isn't sleeping in. We're joining the 7th Annual Drop & Trot 5k Walk/Run to support the Network Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse. This Network Crisis Hotline fundraiser is an excellent excuse for anybody who owns running shoes to burn some calories, help a worthy cause, and challenge our editor on his alleged claims of push-up prowess.

Here's how it works. First, you drop: starting at 7:30 am, runners gather at Bogert Park to grunt through some speed pushups. Each pushup completed within a one-minute window is good for ten seconds off your completed race time. Next, you trot: at 8:30 am, the race rockets through and around Bogert Park, on pavement, grass and bike trails. Philanthropic dogs may join the 5k (and pushups, if especially talented) for free.

Register online by following the links to Drop & Trot at active.com. Early registration is $25, late registration (July 5th to 11th) is $35, and teams run for $100. Donations are gratefully accepted, and individuals donating more than $100 (or teams donating more than $400) are entered into a raffle. For more information, check thenetwork.org or call 586-7689.
