Suby Tales 2007
Don’t let the recent profusion of Audis and Escalades fool you—Bozeman’s still a Suby town at heart, and it’s time once again to celebrate this most trusted of vehicular companions. Whether it’s a near-mishap or just the perfect day, we want to hear about it. There’ll be prizes for funniest story, coolest photo, best overall tale, and other categories. Entry forms are available at Montana Import Group on East Frontage Road. Listen to the Moose 95.1 for more info, and check out outsidebozeman.com for contest details. Tell us your Suby tale!

How Far Will You Go?
Richard Gianforte packed the fall issue across the seas and up a massive New Zealand volcano to win this issue’s How Far Will You Go contest. “The volcano is located in the center of the North Island,” wrote Richard, “and was where the scenes from Mordor and Mt. Doom were filmed in the Lord of the Rings movies.” Alas, no tunnel into the mountain’s interior, but thermal lakes and steam vents made the scene eerily similar to the movie. The 12-mile hike took Richard and his companions to a lofty altitude—“It was cold,” he explained, “but I had my Outside Bozeman.” Runners-up include Tanya Nevin, who took O/B to the headwaters of the Nile River in Uganda; Nancy Barrett, who hauled a copy to Stonehenge; and Julie Hanen (Summer 05 contest winner), who snapped some great shots of Easter Island natives reading the magazine. Congrats all around, and thanks to everyone for packing O/B along.
