Review: MSR Papa Hubba NX

When my family outgrew our beloved Mutha Hubbard three-person tent, upgrading to MSR’s larger Papa Hubba NX four-person backpacking tent was an easy choice. After all, it shares performance features we’ve grown to love such as the color-coded unified hub-and-pole system, StayDry doors with built-in rain gutters, large side-entry vestibules to store gear, a Durashield-coated adjustable rainfly, integrated stake-out loops, and high-tenacity ripstop nylon fabrics that have kept us warm and dry for years. The Papa Hubba provides the larger space we need without adding much weight, and its time-tested familiarity makes it a win-win in my book. Available at Timber Trails. $600; msrgear.com
