Tibetan Lights

Not every mountainous region in the world is blessed with the quality of life we enjoy in Montana. The people of Nepal and Tibet, for example, are so bad off in places that they lack access to education, clean water, and other basic needs. But a few Bozeman locals aim to change all that. On Tuesday, July 25 at 7 pm, Antahkarana Society International and Aquape International come together at the Emerson Cultural Center to host the second annual Tibetan Lights, a fun-filled evening of music, food, crafts, and cultural exchange. The event will include a group of Tibetan monks presenting Tibetan music with dharma instruments, as well as an edifying dialogue on Tibetan culture. Stunning handmade Nepalese thangkas will be on sale, along with other Himalayan-area artwork. The goal is to raise funds and awareness for the education and water purification efforts in the remote villages of Lima, Nepal, and other southeast Asian locales.
