Anyone interested in education, the outdoors, and volunteering can combine all three this summer with the local chapter of the Sierra Club. The following activities are open to anyone interested:

June 12th—annual workday on Lava Lake trail. Help saw downfall, clean out water bars, and place brush in erosion-causing shortcuts. Long pants, sturdy boots, work gloves, and plenty of water are all recommended.
June 19-20—weeding along the Madison River between West Yellowstone and Madison Junction. Free campsites at Norris should be arranged.
June 20—Madison river kayak and canoe trip.
August 1—Sacagawea hike. A 14-mile, all-day hike up Corbly Canyon to Sacagawea Peak in the Bridger Range.
Sept 14—Gates of the Mountains canoe and sea kayak trip. A three-day, two-night paddling trip. Participants need their own boat, life jacket, camping gear, and food.

For information on any of these outings, contact outings coordinator Don Benatelle at 580-1657.
