I’ve always been a serial sunglasses shopper—the cheap kind. I must have spent thousands of dollars on glasses that look a little lopsided and last less than a week. (Not to mention that my abnormally large head causes most glasses to cut off circulation to my brain.) Then I got Smith’s Cypress shades, and I’m not going back to my cut-rate ways. I assumed that to buy outdoor-friendly glasses I’d have to sacrifice style—not true. These vintage-inspired “cat eye” specs fit wonderfully, although admittedly a tad small—a good thing for those of you with normal-sized heads. Even at medium coverage, the sunglasses keep my eyes disguised, and no sweaty slipping from the handmade acetate frames means my outdoor runs are always comfortable. Imagine how many neural connections I could have saved had I taken the plunge sooner. $120; smithoptics.com.
