Review: FishPond Blizzard Soft Cooler

After spending a sufficient amount of time on the river this summer, I have a pretty good idea of what to bring. FishPond's Blizzard Soft Cooler was a nice addition to my weekend trips. With its rugged exterior and thick insulation, it’s perfect for people who may, from time to time, beat up their gear to within an inch of its life.

My favorite perk was the Velcro flap on the top. With one hand you can reach down, tear it open, and get inside without unzipping around the entire thing. The zippers are extra large for easy grip, and five exterior pockets for little extras like utensils come in handy. The size I chose (medium) says it can hold up to 24 cans, but if you're bringing lunch and beers for more than one person, opt for the larger model. At least for the way some folks drink here in Montana. $69; fishpondusa.com.
