How Far Will You Go?

Resolute readers once again hauled Outside Bozeman around the globe this past season, hoping to snag top honors in the coveted How Far Will You Go contest. This round saw entries from as far away as western Europe, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Former Bozemanite Colin Reid snapped his How Far pic at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies. “My wife and I took these photos from our room while on our honeymoon in December,” wrote Colin. “We read the magazine while on the beach.” Meanwhile, Bozeman resident and regular O/B reader Linda Phillips took shots of her kids reading with a human statue on Las Ramblas in Barcelona, Spain. The summer spoils, however, go to Andrew Bisson, a First Lieutenant in the Army’s 10th Mountain Division, who posed with his O/B in front of a 155 mm howitzer at Fire Base Kalagush in western Nuristan Province, Afghanistan. “This is a photo for the How Far Will You Go thingy,” wrote Andrew. “The mountains in the background are the Hindu Kush. I don't know if this counts as far, but it is certainly remote, even for Afghanistan.” Given the firepower at Andrew’s disposal, we won’t argue. When he returns to Bozeman from overseas duty he’ll be rewarded with a prize of his choice from the O/B Treasure Chest. Congrats to Andrew, and thanks to everyone for packing O/B along!
