When Popticals broke the mold with their pop-out sunglasses, I was curious to give them a try. I opted for the POPH2O, which is well-suited for fishing. Popticals’ FL2 micro-rail system, which allows the lenses to slide compactly together, takes some time to get used to.

When I first put them on, I could see the rail across the top of my field of view; however, now I barely notice it at all. My favorite part is folding up these “transformer” sunglasses into a palm-sized bundle, to the surprise of family and friends. The POPH2O sunglasses look great when I need them, and simply fold up for protection and storage when I don’t.

Popticals are made in Italy and feature nylon polarized lenses, complete UV protection, and a Hydrophobic Ri-Pel coating that repels water, oil, and dust. I can also attest to them being incredibly scratch- and impact-resistant.
