Designed for all-mountain use, the Bushido II from La Sportiva is a beast. The outsole is a hard rubber that provides superb traction and withstands abuse on ridgelines and wet, rocky trails. The upper is breathable mesh that pushes water out and has reinforcement in stress areas. My favorite feature is the toe protection, which covers the entire front of the shoe and battles the rocks and roots that my toes always seem to find. Available at Schnee's and Uphill Pursuits. $130.
