Climbing high in Paradise Valley.

Mount Holmes
Just south of Electric, Mt. Holmes tops out at 10,336 feet and makes for a long all-day climb. You’ll gain almost 3,000 feet of elevation over 11 miles, and should plan for five hours for the ascent alone. Once on the summit, you’ll be rewarded with views of both the Gallatin and Paradise valleys.

Ramshorn Peak
For a shorter daytrip that’ll still get you above 10,000 feet, climb Ramshorn Peak. At 10,289 feet, it’ll have you huffing and puffing, but the much shorter four-mile climb means you can sleep in. Added bonus: along the hike to the summit, check out the petrified trees that were buried by volcanic mudflows over 50 million years ago.
