Want to give road biking a try? Here are a few classic rides around Bozeman to get you pointed in the right direction.

 

Triple Tree Lunchtime Loop
Main Roads: Sourdough, Triple Tree, Tayabeshockup
Distance: 13 miles
Time: 1 hour
Elevation: One short climb up to Triple Tree
Difficulty: Easy

Hyalite Canyon (closed to cars in the spring)
Main Roads: South 19th, Hyalite Canyon Road
Distance: 36 miles
Time: 2-3 hours
Elevation: False flat up to the base of the Canyon, extended 9-mile climb up Hyalite
Difficulty: Medium

Springhill Loop
Main roads: Springhill, Reese Creek, Dry Creek, Nelson Road, Davis Lane
Distance: 36 miles
Time: 2-3 hours
Elevation: Flat to rolling
Difficulty: Easy/medium

The Lewis and Clark Caverns Loop (location of MSU Bobcats’ spring race on April 14)
Start: Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park near Three Forks
Main roads: HWY 2, 287, and 359
Distance: 35 miles (repeat as needed)
Time: 2-3 hours
Elevation: Rolling
Difficulty: Medium

Livingston and Back
Main Roads: Kelly Canyon, Bridger Canyon, Jackson Creek, I-90 frontage
Distance: ~65 miles
Time: 4-5 hours
Elevation: Multiple extended climbs
Difficulty: Challenging

Around the Block
Main Roads: Bridger Canyon over Battle Ridge Pass to Wilsall, US 89 to Livingston, I-90 frontage road, Jackson Creek, Bridger Canyon
Distance: 100 miles
Time: 6-7 hours
Elevation: Multiple extended climbs
Difficulty: Very challenging
